Armin PRAMSTALLER was born in Dorn­birn in 1938. 1959 to 1965 stud­ied at the Acad­e­my of Fine Arts in Vien­na, mas­ter class with Pro­fes­sor Chris­t­ian Lud­wig Mar­tin and Pro­fes­sor Max­i­m­il­ian Melch­er. Since his stu­dent days, Pram­staller has devot­ed him­self exclu­sive­ly to etch­ing. A group of artists and friends, whose mem­bers became Austria’s most impor­tant print­mak­ers in the sec­ond half of the 20th cen­tu­ry, and to which Pram­staller also belonged, was formed. Max­i­m­il­ian Melch­er called him the — emper­or of line etch­ing — and one of his most impor­tant stu­dents. From 1965 to 1985 teach­ing at gram­mar schools in Feld­kirch and Dorn­birn. Since 1972 numer­ous exhi­bi­tions and par­tic­i­pa­tion, hon­ors and awards. Armin Pram­staller dies in Dorn­birn in 2002. 1977 – first exhi­bi­tion in the gallery Welz.
