Eva Wagner

Exhibition from 21.04.2021 — 29.05.2021

While Eva Wagner used to use fleeting moments of everyday life in urban environments as a source of inspiration for her multi-layered picture compositions, now vegetable structures have become the dominant theme of her painterly research.

Eva Wagner’s pictures have a long process of creation. Layer by layer with glaze applied paint, she combines abstract and figurative parts in her pictures and thereby evokes the impression of infinite depth and a suction effect. This superimposition of different image levels creates an aura of the fleeting, indeterminate, but also of the mysterious, ephemeral. Reality is present, but never really tangible and manifest. The abstract color spaces that open up between the realistic floral quotes always leave enough room for your own associations and interpretations of the recipient.
