Klaus FUSSMANN was born in Velbert in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1938. 1957 to 1961 studies at the Folkwang School in Essen. 1962 to 1966 studied at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin. Participation in exhibitions since 1963, numerous solo exhibitions at home and abroad since 1968. 1974 Fussmann receives a professorship at the University of the Arts in Berlin and has been a member of the Free Academy Hamburg since 1989. Numerous trips take the artist to Florence, Norway, Iceland, India, Australia, New Zealand and the USA. Fussmann’s work comprises a classic repertoire of themes: portraits, landscapes, flowers, interiors and still lifes. Numerous art prizes accompany Fussmann’s work. He is one of the representatives of the new objectivity. The artist lives and works in Berlin and Gelting in Schleswig-Holstein.
