Klaus FUSSMANN was born in Velbert in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1938. From 1957 to 1961, he studied at the Folkwang School in Essen. 1962 to 1966 studied at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin. Participation in exhibitions since 1963, numerous solo exhibitions at home and abroad since 1968. In 1974 Fussmann was appointed professor at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin and has been a member of the Freie Akademie Hamburg since 1989. Numerous trips take the artist to Florence, Norway, Iceland, India, Australia, New Zealand and the USA. Fussmann’s work comprises a classic repertoire of themes: portraits, landscapes, flowers, interiors and still lifes. Numerous art prizes accompany Fussmann’s work. He is one of the representatives of the new objectivity. The artist lives and works in Berlin and Gelting in Schleswig-Holstein.
