



Alfred HRDLICKA was born in Vienna-Brigittenau in 1928. 1943 to 1945 apprenticeship as a dental technician in Vienna. 1946 to 1953 studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with Albert Paris Gütersloh and Josef Dobrowsky. 1953 to 1957 studied sculpture with Fritz Wotruba. 1963 Head of the sculpture class at the International Summer Academy in Salzburg. 1971 appointment to the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, 1973 appointment to the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg, 1975 renewed appointment to the Academy in Stuttgart, 1986 appointment to the University of the Arts in Berlin and 1989 appointment as head of the master class for sculpture to the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. In 2009 Alfred Hrdlicka died in Vienna. 1963 — first exhibition in the Welz gallery.
