Gigi Jansa

Gigi JANSA was born in Rad­stadt in 1958. From 1972 to 1976 atten­dance at the tech­ni­cal school for wood and stone carv­ing in Hallein. Par­tic­i­pa­tion in the Inter­na­tion­al Sum­mer Acad­e­my Salzburg (1974, class for graph­ics, Prof. Prack and 1978, class for sculp­ture, Prof. Bertoni). 1978 to 1980 Mozar­teum Uni­ver­si­ty of Salzburg (stage design class, Prof. Gallee). 2000 to 2001 six-month study vis­it to India / Nepal. Since 1998 the artist has been a mem­ber of the Knie art ini­tia­tive, Obern­dorf near Salzburg and since 2001 a mem­ber of the ache 700 art asso­ci­a­tion, Lengfelden / Salzburg. Each archa­ic bronze sculp­ture (soul being) by the artist embod­ies a state in life, a sto­ry that should act like a pro­jec­tion, like a mir­ror image, on the view­er. The view­er should find a very per­son­al and very per­son­al approach and start look­ing for the inner world, for inner har­mo­ny. Gigi Jansa lives and works in Salzburg. Since 2009 — rep­re­sent­ed with works in Galerie Welz.
