Yoko OMOMI was born in Mada­gas­car in 1971. She spent much of her child­hood in Japan, after which she lived in Zam­bia, Rwan­da, Eng­land, North­ern Ire­land and Spain.
She stud­ied fine arts at the City & Guilds of Lon­don Art School. This was fol­lowed by a “Mas­ter in Euro­pean Fine Art” at the Win­ches­ter School of Art in Win­ches­ter and Barcelona. Her work has received sev­er­al awards and is in pub­lic col­lec­tions in Eng­land and Ger­many. In addi­tion to her own artis­tic activ­i­ty, she has also worked as a free­lance art teacher for many years. Yoko Omo­mi spe­cial­izes in sumi‑e paint­ing (Japan­ese ink paint­ing) and con­tem­po­rary art. The artist has lived in Ger­many since 2004.
