Martin PRASKA was born in Wiesloch near Heidelberg in 1963. From 1985 to 1990, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. In 1986 he was awarded the silver Füger Prize. This was followed by a working scholarship from Invest Kredit AG in 1987, the Werfen Painters’ Symposium in Salzburg in 1993, a scholarship abroad in Krumlov, Czech Republic in 1994 and in London in 1998. He has been a member of the MAERZ artists’ association since 1995. In 1999 he founded the artists’ group Die Halbe Wahrheit. From 2002 to 2004 he was chairman of IG BILDENDE KUNST Österreich. In 2008, he co-founded the artist group K2 United Painters. Praska has taken part in numerous exhibitions and participations in exhibitions at home and abroad, including in Austria, Germany and Luxembourg. In his forays through the history of painting, he deliberately draws on Old Masters, Pop Art, Fluxus and Expressionism. The artist has lived and worked in Vienna since 1992. 2008 – first exhibition in the gallery Welz.
