Markus PRILLER was born on August 17th, 1956 in Salzburg. 1975 to 1979 attend­ed the school for wood and stone sculp­ture in Inns­bruck. From 1979 to 1985 stud­ied sculp­ture at the Acad­e­my of Fine Arts in Munich. From 1990 to 1996 assis­tant to Prof. Hans Lad­ner at the Acad­e­my of Fine Arts in Munich. Has worked as a free­lance artist since 1985. It is obvi­ous that Markus Priller is fas­ci­nat­ed by every­thing archa­ic. Char­ac­ter­is­tic of his work are the forms that have been awak­ened to life of their own. Regard­less of whether it is wood or met­al, he suc­ceeds in pick­ing up oscil­la­tions and vibra­tions and con­vey­ing an appar­ent weight­less­ness. The artist has lived and worked on Lake Attersee since 1997.
