The artist’s cen­tral theme is the human body. With expres­sive lines set in one piece, based on the momen­tum and strength of his own phys­i­cal­i­ty, Hannes Mlenek places frag­ments of the fig­u­ra­tive on the page. Knowl­edge of nature is always a point of ref­er­ence in the artist’s works. How­ev­er, Mlenek takes his works far beyond this, both in the sense of a con­cept of thought and con­tent, as well as in their dimen­sion, in that they unmis­tak­ably always claim the space for them­selves.
