PETER BISCHOF

Exhibition from 20.04.2024 — 25.05.2024

Peter Bischof was born in Vienna in 1934. After abstract-expressionist beginnings and alongside religious-literary themes, he placed the human body and expansive, dynamically moving images of people at the center of his works. As early as 1957, the artist realized that he not only wanted to depict the human figure, but also incorporate his thoughts and associations. In 1959, the artist’s first solo exhibition was shown at the Galerie St. Stephan in Vienna. Peter Bischof lived and worked in Kößlwang in Upper Austria and in Vienna. He passed away on August 5, 2021. The current exhibition presents works on paper and canvas.
