Valentin Oman celebrates his 90th birthday in 2025. To mark the occasion, several national and international exhibition projects will be held to honor his work. From 1958 to 1962, Oman studied at what is now the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and completed a special class in printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. The forging technique in iron and precious metals is a central theme in Gabriele Kutschera’s work. Starting with jewelry creations, Gabriele Kutschera turned to forged iron sculpture in the 1990s. Finding a rhythm, hammering and annealing, i.e. tension and relaxation, the perception of time and change is her main motif. In the exhibition, Gabriele Kutschera’s forged iron sculptures enter into a relationship with Valentin Oman’s differentiated figures and his graphic and painterly works.
