Following the tradition of the gallery, icons and vedute from the 19th century were presented in addition to works of contemporary art and classic modern art until the late 1970s.
In the 1980s the gallery focused its exhibition activities more and more on works of contemporary art and classical modern art, including Lovis Corinth, Gustav Klimt, Camille Corot, James Ensor, Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall.
