Christoph CONSTANTIN was born in Salzburg in 1956. After completing an apprenticeship at the Federal College for Wood and Stone Sculpture in Hallein, he studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. This was followed by periods of work in a bronze foundry in Verona and in the quarries of Carrara. He exhibited extensively in Salzburg, Vienna, Berlin, Graz, Bremen, Klagenfurt and Innsbruck. In 1988/89, the artist worked as an assistant at the International Summer Academy in Salzburg. Christoph Constantin has dealt intensively with the materials and possibilities of sculpture and has developed an unmistakable personal style. His works made of wood, marble, cotto and metal are in private and public collections. The artist lives and works in Salzburg and Burgenland.
