Christoph CONSTANTIN was born in Salzburg in 1956. After com­plet­ing an appren­tice­ship at the Fed­er­al Col­lege for Wood and Stone Sculp­ture in Hallein, he stud­ied sculp­ture at the Acad­e­my of Fine Arts in Vien­na. This was fol­lowed by peri­ods of work in a bronze foundry in Verona and in the quar­ries of Car­rara. He exhib­it­ed exten­sive­ly in Salzburg, Vien­na, Berlin, Graz, Bre­men, Kla­gen­furt and Inns­bruck. In 1988/89, the artist worked as an assis­tant at the Inter­na­tion­al Sum­mer Acad­e­my in Salzburg. Christoph Con­stan­tin has dealt inten­sive­ly with the mate­ri­als and pos­si­bil­i­ties of sculp­ture and has devel­oped an unmis­tak­able per­son­al style. His works made of wood, mar­ble, cot­to and met­al are in pri­vate and pub­lic col­lec­tions. The artist lives and works in Salzburg and Burgenland.
