Hubert FISCHLHAMMER was born in Ried im Innkreis / Upper Aus­tria in 1925. From 1940–41 he was a guest stu­dent with Prof. Hiller­brand at the Art Acad­e­my in Munich. 1946–47 he stud­ied draw­ing in Ried with Gabler, Traeger and Simon­ka. From 1948–53 the artist worked as an illus­tra­tor and press drafts­man. 1960–61 stud­ies with Prof. Gise­vius in Paris and 1962–63 with Prof. Soucek at the Inter­na­tion­al Sum­mer Acad­e­my in Salzburg. 1984 Award­ed the title of pro­fes­sor. From 1988 dwin­dling eye­sight impaired the con­tin­u­a­tion of his artis­tic activ­i­ty. An eye oper­a­tion enables him to resume artis­tic work. Fis­chlham­mer study trips take him to Italy, Yugoslavia, Spain, Greece, the Canary Islands, Mal­ta and North Africa. The artist is a mem­ber of the Innvier­tel artists’ guild, the Upper Aus­tri­an and Salzburg Art Asso­ci­a­tions, the Parz Cas­tle artist group and the Vien­na artist group Der Kreis. In his work, per­son­al sym­bols and found objects from every­day life result in a game of illu­sions, paint­ings are col­laged and vice ver­sa. The artist has lived and worked in Vien­na since 1974. 1986 — first exhi­bi­tion in the Welz gallery.
