Kurt MOLDOVAN was born in Vienna in 1918. In 1938, he gave up his profession as a precision mechanic and began studying commercial and illustration graphics at the Vienna School of Applied Arts. After five years as a soldier on the Eastern Front, he returned to Vienna in 1950 and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, master class Sergius Pauser and Abendakt Herbert Boeckl. As a founding member of the Austrian section of the Art Club in 1946/47, Moldovan regularly took part in international exhibitions. Numerous exhibitions and participations in exhibitions followed. Working visits and study trips took Moldovan all over Europe, including to Mexico and the USA. In 1968 he was awarded the Grand Austrian State Prize. Kurt Moldovan died in Vienna in 1977. 1957 — first exhibition at the Welz Gallery.
