Mar­tin STAUFNER was born in Immen­stadt (All­gäu) in 1964 and moved to Upper Aus­tria with his fam­i­ly in 1968. From 1985 to 1989 he attend­ed the Tech­ni­cal School of Com­mer­cial Graph­ics in Linz, fol­lowed from 1990 to 1995 by a mas­ter­class in paint­ing and graph­ic design with Peter Kubovsky at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Art and Indus­tri­al Design in Linz. In 1995, he grad­u­at­ed with the theme “Cityscape, Draw­ing in New York”. His first solo exhi­bi­tion took place in the same year, fol­lowed by fur­ther exhi­bi­tions and par­tic­i­pa­tions in exhi­bi­tions. Study trips last­ing sev­er­al months took the artist to New York, Los Ange­les, Andalu­sia and Italy, among oth­er places. From 2013, the artist taught at the Höhere tech­nis­che Bun­deslehranstalt für Grafik- und Kom­mu­nika­tions­de­sign in Linz. Mar­tin Staufn­er received the Kul­tur­ring der Wirtschaft OÖ in 1996 and 2000 and was the win­ner of the Dom­browsky Prize Graz in 1999. He lives and works in Linz. 2004 – first exhi­bi­tion in the gallery Welz.
